Lesson 8
Let's Enjoy the Full Moon

Dialog 1

A: This Kimchi is very hot.
B: Don't you like Kimchi?
A: I am not sure. I think it is too hot for me.
   What is this?
B: It's gochujang. It's red pepper paste.
C: It is a little hot but very tasty.
B: Why don't you try some, Sally?
A: No, thanks. I am afraid it is too hot.

Dialog 2

A: When is Thanksgiving?
B: It is the fourth Thursday in November.
A: What do you usually do on Thanksgiving Day?
B: All family members get together for dinner.
   It's like Chuseok in Korea.
A: Do you have any special foods for Thanksgiving?
B: Yes, we do. We eat turkey for dinner.
A: What are your plans for Thanksgiving this year?
B: We are going to have a big party.

Let's Read
At Chuseok, Nari invited her friends, Sally and Tim, to her house. Nari's family had dinner with Sally and Tim.
After dinner, Nari's father said, "Today is Chuseok. It is a traditional Korean holiday to celebrate a good harvest."
Nari said, "I know Americans have a similar one."
"Yes, we have Thanksgiving," said Sally.
"We eat turkey for Thanksgiving. Are there any special foods for Chuseok?" asked Tim.
"Of course. We eat songpyeon. Why don't you try some?" said Nari's mother. They enjoyed the songpyeon.
Nari's father said, "At Chuseok, we Koreans visit our family graves. We also enjoy the full moon in the evening."
Sally said, "That's great. Can we go ut and enjoy the full moon now?"
"Sure. Let's go," said Nari.
Nari, Sally, and Tim went out and enjoyed the full moon.
